Damn straight.

New Tokyo (Giant Panda) Dunks

This panda is dope as s**t, too.
Don't you agree?

On a beautiful day...

I'm at work in the fitness center watching Law and Order: SVU and this commercial just played.

Way better than that MTV commercial for getting tested for HIV that had "Go Baby" playing in the background. Am I the only one that got super excited the whole commercial and even did a little dance, until they finally showed what the commercial was for, and kinda ruined the whole thing for you? Yeah... I didn't think I was.

Your favorite rapper's favorite rapper

Wale performed on Letterman with the Roots and Chrisette Michele last night. I think it'd be just a little redundant to go into how F**KIN EXCITED I AM!!!

Make sure you get the new Roots album that dropped today. Its called Rising Down and I got a copy last night and its amazing. I listened to it like 4 times in a row at least. Its just one of those albums. I'm actually listening to it right now.

Grand Theft Auto IV

The new Grand Theft Auto came out this morning. I heard that one of my boys picked it up at 12 am on the dot. I'm not a gamer myself but I saw the trailer for the first time a week ago and it looks decent. I actually want to play just to see if I still don't care for video games.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY DES!!!

Don't really know what my life would be like without you.
Don't really want to know.
Have a good one.

That's why we're roommates

If you've ever chilled with Calvin and I, you know that we're two peas in a f**ked up pod. We're constantly playing off of eachother and when it comes to decision making or catching things that no one else saw/heard, 98% of the time we're on the same page. Its wierd. I really think that everyone that has a roommate should be on the same level with theirs that I am with mine. I would say "No homo" but that's my dude and I'm not ashamed to say that I'm happy I have to see this n**ga all the time.
Read this text convo that Calvin and I just had. This is a perfect example of what I'm talking about..

Calvin: Being so little must suck on days like this huh? Drowning is probably a pretty big deal for you guys.
Cousin Chris: Die!
Calvin: I wont... but i'm not too sure you'll make it... i packed your floaties just in case.
Cousin Chris: Thanks. And I don't care what you say because i came all over your pillow a couple nights ago. Both sides. Sweet dreams b**ch.
Calvin: Lmao... don't be mad at me because u can't see in our bathroom mirror. I didn't put the s**t there.
Cousin Chris: F**k you guy! lol.
Calvin: Oh man... lmao. Gotcha b**ch. I had to get at somebody. I'm sittin here in the dirt lot w/ no windshield wipers waitin to go home.
Cousin Chris: Why the f**k aren't you in class?! Unacceptable.
Calvin: I got out of my car to walk to the shuttle and it started pouring so i said "f**k that. I'm not walkin into class lookin like i just went on an underwater adventure w/out a swimsuit."
Cousin Chris: Why the f**k not, Aquaman?! No one cares.
Calvin: I know that. It was a personal decision. I hate water unless i'm naked or in a swimsuit. Other than that, if i'm not drinkin it, i dont f**k w/ it.
Cousin Chris: You're an idiot.
Calvin: You in the apartment?
Cousin Chris: Nope. 1940. Come get the keys.

Rainy Days

I don't remeber if I've told you this already, but my body doesn't respond well to rainy days. Actually, now that I think about it, I'm almost positive that I've told you about my condition before. When it rains I get kind of depressed, kind of sad, and just an overall melancholic feeling. Its wierd because I don't want to feel this way, but I can't help it. Its to the point that when I wake up in the morning feeling this way for seemingly no reason, I assume that its raining outside. And when I get up and look out the window, it always is. I can't even remember how many arguments I've gotten into with people only because the weather made me feel like s**t. To my knowledge, Maddie is the only person that knows exactly how I'm going to react to bad weather, and the best ways to deal with it.

Anyway, today's a s**tty day and I don't really have anything interesting to write a post about. I saw this video about a month ago and kind of have been saving it for (you guessed it) a rainy day.
Neptunes on the beat. Enjoy.

Whatever happened to those?...

I'm sitting here on my bed, exploring people's blogs and reading articles and interviews, when out of nowhere I just start thinking of the Freddy Krueger Dunks that were supposed to be come out last year around Halloween time, but were never released... WTF?
I'm mad because I got really excited about them.
Nike SB 'Freddy Krueger' Dunk LowNike SB 'Freddy Krueger' Dunk LowNike SB 'Freddy Krueger' Dunk Low

*Honestly though... why does dude have to be so scary? I can't even bang with him like that. What the f**K happened to son's face?! That's pretty gross. If you can't tell by now or didn't know already, I don't f**k with scary movies... AT ALL!

Get familiar

So my dude Domo hit me up with these videos he took from a radio interview with Sock the Rapper and my big brother Don. If you recall, last week and the week before I was talking about how sick the EP is and promoting the listening party at Pedestrian Boutique. I really don't know what else I can say about this fine piece of hip hop. It still goes and honestly, I can't wait to hear what's next.
And did I mention he's from "the area"? You know I gotta support my own.

Open your ears for:
Greatest Love - Basically this is a song about his love for hip hop and music in general and how it has the power to seduce you and consequently control your mind. It also speaks on one of the many conflicts of man: being in love with two different thing/people at one time. Don stretched his legs out on the beat with a German-army-style drumline and infectous horns. The type of music you'd expect to hear if you were playing a game of pick up basketball in the gym and MJ just walked in in slow motion. LMAO!
All She Needs - This may be my favorite track on the album. Its a classic boy-meets-(fine a**)girl story with some real s**t that young sneakerheads and college kids can really relate to. Check the last verse. Sock definitely hit us with the "What you gettin into after this party?" type verse. You gotta love. Big brother tried to get his Neptunes-sexy on with the beat. Mission accomplished, sir.
The Night Away - All I'm gonna say is that this needs to be the next addition to your "Chiefin" playlist (personally, mine is called the "Sour Diesel" Playlist. shout out to Devon). Its an all to familiar story of the mind elevation process that most of us have been through (some more than others). The simple fact that Don can make a reggae beat blows my f'in mind. I've actually performed the actions in this song while listening to it. Its an experience, to say the least.

Walk it out

A friend of mine told me to watch this and even though I tried my hardest not to laugh, I couldn't help myself. I think it's the new anchor's laughter that makes it so funny...

Tell Ferris Bueller "I'm cooler"

I'm gonna sound like such a hypebeast when I say this but I swear, when I was younger and I would pretend to be way more sick than I really was so I could stay home from school, the same two movies were gaurunteed to come on at some point in the day: Ferris Bueller's Day Off & Pee Wee's Big Adventure. Well, for whatever reason, I slept on the Pee Wee Dunks that came out last year but luckily, I've been given a chance to redeem myself and everything my childhood stands for (I siced it).

Nike SB came up with the idea of creating some Ferris Bueller Dunk highs and they're f'ing amazing. They're modeled after the outfit he wore in the film and they're pretty damn sexy... Make that really damn sexy.

*If anyone has either of these DVDs can I please please please borrow them?. I'm not like other people. I take really good care of other people's s**t. Especially DVDs. Ask Whitney. She'll tell you. For real though. If you got it, hook me up.

Well when you put it that way...

I'm not even gonna lie... I took this directly for nicekicks.com. it's dope though and I just post about the Air Yeezy's like yesterday or something so I felt like I had to.
You understand... right?

Here's the breakdown of the design of Kanye's Air Yeezy's.

Hello fellow internet fiends! I'm especially happy today. I don't really know why but I'm just geekin' for no reason. I think it might be this beautiful weather. Anyway, it's that time of the week so let's get right into it. I hope you enjoy what I picked out for you. And I'm also hoping that you're all having a great f**kin' day!

Shout out to my new friend for mentioning this one. I totally forgot about this song and it matches my mood today perfectly.

I'm gonna' play this s**t as soon as I get in my car just so I can blast it and drive around in circles. I'm not really but it sounded cool in my head.

And lastly, I am SO happy I found this video right here. i've been searching for it for at least 3 months and couldn't find it. Somehow on this glorious day, it just appeared. The quality is trash but that doesn't even matter.

F**k it! Why not one more?!
This is dedicated to everyone that checks KTH daily or close to daily. On behalf of the team, I just wanna tell you that you're appreciated, and I wish I had a private so I could come pick you up and go wherever you want to go. Please go outside and enjoy the day. I'm in accounting class right now so I'll meet you when I get out.
Love you guys.

Bust One!

Aden called me and sent me an urgent text late last night that read:
"Drop everything and read my g**damn blog!"
Needless to say I was slowly slipping into a coma so I was a little reluctant to get up. But as soon as I woke up I went and I gotta be honest... I creamed myself. And because I'm not the selfish type, I'll share it with you.
I advise you to get out your tissue so you don't make the same mistake I made.

And you ruined it

It sucks when you realize that something that used to make you happy now pisses you off. Likewise, and I know Terence can attest to this, it sucks how you can be having a perfectly fine day, and a friend says something that doesn't directly make you mad, but sparks connecting thoughts in your mind that make you mad. It's one of those instances when your laughing and joking and as soon as its said, your face completely changes. Then you can't stop thinking about it! And then you get mad because you don't want to be as mad about it as you are because you supposedly "don't care"! Crazy right?
Anyway, I digress. Thought about this today and it made me mad for like 3.5 seconds. Primarily because you ruined it, and it was never yours to ruin. So thanks a lot.

Not you, readers. You guys are fine. Hahaha...

Some of that crankity crank music

I mean... I don't know if Ive ever told you this before, but I LOVE being from where I'm from. We've embraced the title of DMV (DC, Maryland, and Virginia for you speds) and I have no problem repping all three. So yeah, I've been waiting for this video to come out for a couple weeks now and I'm boosted it's finally here. This is kind of epic, ladies and gentlemen. This is the first time Wale's in a legit-a** video and he's rapping! Congrats to the dude.

The Roots cranked as usual and Chrisette Michele is a bun on the low.
(that's a little DC slang fo' that a**. lol.)

Ay son... is Go-Go finally about to blow up?

*Oh yeah... the DC swag I always talk about... did you see it? Wale's definitely got it.

I almost forgot...

I saw this for the first time this weekend and thought about you, my readers.
While you watch it, notice his DC swag. It's pretty obvious so it should be hard to miss. It comes with being from "the area" (pronounced "ur-eah"). We can't help it.

I can't even lie... this s**t makes me wish I could sing.

The mood I'm in

These have been on my mind since last week but I didn't really know the context in which I should post them. So I decided to stop dwelling on it and just go ahead and put them up. I'll probably be up all night doing work but 90s R&B is doing a pretty good job of keeping me up so far.
Enjoy.

And lastly, my favorite slow jam of all time...

What happened to that boy?

Hello all. My bad for not really posting anything lately. I've been kinda out of it since 4/20, ya dig? That's not the only reason my posts have been sparse though. Your boy has a lot going on right now and its kind of hard to keep up with all of it. But I'm trying. On a lighter note, I went to one of my music sites to see what I missed during the past couple of days and I came across this Skyzoo song featuring Wale. Its pretty decent so check it out.

I'm asking him to change his ways...

I like Mark Ronson, and I had heard a little Rhymefest, typically with Mark Ronson. But when I heard a collab they did called "Breakadawn" by chance on hypem.com, i had to get the rest of the mixtape! It's a "dedication" to Michael Jackson in mixtape form, called Mark Ronson presents Rhymefest: Man In the Mirror. There are guest artists and producers on the mixtape to satisfy the whole family, including: Ghostface, Mary J Blige, Talib Kweli, Daniel Merriweather, and even (your boy Chris) Wale.

step your game up

Here's a look at the Nike Air Yeezy's. They're dope. Just as you'd expect. There's no info on a release date, price, or availabilty yet but I'll keep you posted. They kind of look like a hybrid of a buncha different Nike kicks with a futuristic twist. I'd rock em, though.

Here's a pic of him thuggin a black pair at the Grammy's earlier this year. G status.

Guuurrrrrlllll stop!!!

I mean, excuse me miss. You're looking quite lascivious these days and I'd really appreciate it if you'd stop tempting me. I'm supposed to be mad at females right now but you're making it very... very hard. No pun intended and that was really inappropriate so I apologize on behalf of KTH...
Kind of... not really.

Pop Up Video

For KTH, this is probably my favorite time of the week. Know why? Because I always know at least one thing to write a post about. So without further adieu... blah blah blah blah.
I woke up this morning feeling not only dead tired from a very light three hours of sleep, but also a little notorious. Apparently my iPod (I gotta name it) was feeling quite the same because even when on shuffle, Biggie was all it wanted to play. No complaints here.

And because I like you (a little bit)...

Happy Birthday, Tits Magee!!!

F that! I'm going!

Glow in the Dark Tour started last night. Look at this pic from the rehearsal. Most people's music videos don't even look this sick. Genius at his work.

Disbelief

Okay, so this is a semi-personal post. No need to go into detail because that's not my style. It's pretty self explanatory so all I'll say is that I had it coming. Being hit hurts a lot less when you expect it.

Never really a huge 50 Cent fan but listen to the last verse on this song. Its not at all applicable but rather the rest of the song that applies, but I always liked it.

This video takes me back.

"If you... were in my shoes... what would YOU do?"

New Roots Video

I told you a couple weeks ago that the Roots have a song with Patrick Stump from Fall Out Boy on the new album. The name of the song is "Birthday Girl" and here's the video. Apparently the featured female is a pornstar. I wouldn't know...
(I only watch black and asain porn)

Tonight at Pedestrian

Album listening party for my dude Sock the Rapper's new EP. KTH family member (and my big brother) Don produced the every song it. I heard it last week and it's fire. I'm not even sicing it. If it wasn't free, I'd pay for it.
Anywho, come out to Pestrian Boutique at 3rd and South st. tonight at 8pm. It's free and it'd really be appreciated if you came out.
*You can download it for free tomorrow from Sock's MySpace. Favorite tracks: "Greatest Love", "The Night Away", "Mama"

Bust a Gut

Don't want to spend too much time on this because I want to get to the videos. Jen showed my roommate Calvin and I this South Park episode on the internet on Saturday and it was hilarious. Some parts funnier than others, of course.

Basically, Canada goes on strike because they want more money, not realizing that Canada doesn't really do that much for the world ( on the show... I love Canada). However, the kids we've grown to love on South Park watch a show called Terrence and Philip, who happen to be from Canada, and due to the strike only reruns are being show. So the kids decide to call Canada to ask them to end the strike and Canada tells them that they want money. The kids then go on to devise a plan to make a video that everyone will watch and put it on youtube so they can make money from the internet. This is what they came up with...

LMAO!!!

So then they go... somewhere to pick up the money they made from the internet and there's a bunch of popular youtube stars. Also hilarious...

What happens after that is funny but I don't feel like sharing. Watch it yourself on the net. It's season 12, episode 4.
Oh yeah, and then we watched this. Give it a chance. It's funny.

Clearly white men CAN jump

Son gets MAD G-points for this one. I watched a video of Kobe Bryant jumping over a Aston Martin yesterday and I wasn't even this impressed.

*I just watched it like 30 times and realized that he's barefoot. Tarzan like s**t.

"Okay, listen to what he says..."

Hey T and Bo. Remember how excited we got that time in the car last semester when I played this song for you? It's funny because the song was dumb old but I had just heard for the first time so I was extra excited. Well I heard this song today (iPod on shuffle, as usual) and instantly thought of you two. Its kind of cool how you two weren't together when I played it for you yet the exact same thing happened: you smiled, told me to run it back, then proceeded to tell me how old the song was and asked if I was sure I hadn't heard it before. lol.
Music (and Jay) lovers of the world unite!

So this is the verse that blew me away. Its the last verse on "Flip Flop Rock" by Big Boi featuring Killer Mike and Jay-Z. Young Hov was given the baton as the trail leg and he MURDERED IT!
"Guilty until proven innocent, huh?"

Flip Flop Rock - Jay-Z's verse
When I'm in the mood I rock the S Dot tennis shoes
At the interlude, I got the Gucci flip-flops
Then I, mix it up like gin and juice when I'm them interviews
dudes wanna know what he copped
And where you got that? How could they buy that?
Where the million dollar watch at? Stop that!
Why that, why this, niggaz wanna hijack the flyness
I'm on a whole 'nother plane

A whole different lane, a whole 'nother game that I'm playin
Understand what I'm sayin?
Hov' and OutKast, whatchu think about that?
Really don't matter though what you niggaz chatter though
Anybody get out of line then you trust
that the mac'll go r-r-r-r-r-at, got you chill for that alone
Back on the shit, back on the strip
Another hit I'm not gon' miss!

Reading it is cool and everything but you must listen to it to understand its importance.

The Burgh strikes again

Taken from nicekicks.com:

Last month we reported about the new course offered at Carnegie Mellon University Sneakerology 101 that explores how sneakers impact fashion, identity, and culture around the world.

The founders of the course have put together Kicksburgh - an event to celebrate Pittsburgh fashion and culture. The event takes place April 16th at the Skibo Gym at CMU. This event is open to everyone free of charge. On hand at the event will be a mock set up to give a taste of what happens inside the Sneakerology 101 classroom, four local spots displaying and selling their goods, live sneaker customizing as well as work by other local artists. A handful of collections will be on display from local collectors.

Admission is free of charge, but attendees are encouraged to bring a new or good conditioned pair of shoes to donate to Sole4Souls who provide footwear to people in third world countries and disaster stricken areas.

Hi Des!

Temple students: I know you've seen this COON on campus. I was just sitting here in the computer lab in __________ Hall and i saw the kid in front of me watching this video on youtube. I believe this justifies my belief that TU not only has the most intelligent/gangster squirrels in America, but our bums are far better than you city's/college campuses bums as well.

Dear Mamaye,
I'm sorry that guy yelled at you and tried to give you advice on sex and doing porn. That's disgusting. I miss you. Here's a sweet picture of us laughing at Casey.

"Are you crying?"

First and foremost, no, I'm not crying. I just got a little teary eyed for a second.
Moving on... In the previous post I was talking about what I want for myself and the effect I hope to have on people, etc. Well coincidently, I just read a post/article that gave me a feeling that I hope KTH gives to other people. Its kind of difficult to explain, so I'll just let you read it yourself: article. What it is is some writer's personal opinion on what the top 20 Nike commercials of all time are. He counts down from 20 and attached youtube videos of all of them, then wrote a paragraph or two on his personal analysis. I didn't agree with everything he had to say about them but for the most part, he made pretty good points. The majority of them are classics. Some really good ones were left out.

This particular commercial is what started the water-works. I don't think a lot of people realize how fortunate we are to have lived to see the phenomemon that is Michael Jordan. I don't even know where to start on that one so I'll leave it at that.
And Nike is the s**t. Look at how precise this commercial is.

Role Model

There's a couple people that I can honestly say that I look up to. I think it was in the 8th grade when I first heard the term "renaissance man" and its been in the back of my mind since then. Being multifaceted and knowledgable in more than one area is something that I wish to be, and I can only hope that I'm already on my way to achieving.
Mos Def is one of those people that exudes intelligence and an ability to get through to people: whether it be through musical talent or the ability to communicate well to large groups. On top of that, he's funny.
Not to mention he's reppin' for us skinny black males in the world.

See what I mean? I'm impressed by that. And that's really all I want for myself: to impress someone. We all have our "go hard" phases where we swear we don't care what people think about us. And that may be true to an extent. But for myself, it'd be nice to hear a conversation about absolutely anything, and know that if necessary, I could give at least some insight on the issue, and that people would be happy that my opinion was requested. No one likes that person who swears they know everything, and that's not who I'm hoping to be. Rather, I'd like to be that person who can actually hold a conversation about something you never would have thought they'd have an opion on.
Not quite there yet, but I'm working on it.

*For those of you who wished I wrote more personal posts, there's a little insecurity for ya.
**Reading over my post, I'm not quite sure how I was inspired to write all that from this video. My mind wanders sometimes. Consequently, so do my blog posts.

That's baby makin music right there...

I love acoustic versions of hip-hop tracks. Actually, I love acoustic guitar period. This track just made my day. Hope it makes yours, too.
Oh yeah! Thanks for 5,000! Thought I didn't notice, right?
