I know this is already on everyone else's blogs but take a second to ask me if a care. Go ahead... I'll wait.

say what you mean (and all that jazz).

This was sent to me from Mom Dukes a week or two ago and I was speechless. What an idiot.
What blows me most about this is that chances are, in a country like America, this joker very well may be our next President.
Aint that about a b**ch?

laugh it off.

For those of you who work, Mondays can be rough. I know this. Getting through the workday alone is sometimes difficult but Mondays are often the longest day of the week, filled with constant reminders that you still have the rest of the week til good ol' Friday night. Here's something that was shown to me today that made me laugh hysterically. So take a minute to forget that there's still three days left in the week (Fourth of July on a Friday?... nice).

before i die. i swear.

Jay-Z at Glastonbury

extra pillows and seat-back love.

I just saw this on elitaste.com and decided I had to post it. This is the new safety video that's now being played on Delta Airlines flights. What tripped me out about it at first was the gadgets that are shown in it. They're pretty ordinary in 2008 but it just funny to see them in an airline safety video. Maybe they'll stop giving out those s**ty 1985 headphones now. I doubt it. What makes the video so special however, is the gorgeous Katherine Lee, who's an actual Delta flight attendant. I don't even need to speak on her. She clearly speaks for herself. And then there's the much talked about finger wag...

two scoops.

I'm dumb late. I've been meaning to post this since my birthday but s**t's been pretty ridiculous since then. Its Sunday, though. Official down-time day.

Dub... It's my birthday.

"I woke up early on my born day, I'm twenty years of blessing,
The essence of adolescent leaves my body now I'm fresh in.
My physical frame is celebrated cause I made it,
One quarter through life some God-ly like thing created..."

breathe in, breathe out.

Listen to what he's saying every single word. If you're like me, you may have to run it back a couple times to catch everything. Kinda like the first time you watched Ocean's 11. The second and third time is just as good but for different reasons. That's how this freestlye is. And I love his Farenheit 1/15-esque flow. Not to mention that this is one of my favorite Rocafella beats of all time and he straight murdered it. Thank you, sir.

I've been seriously holding out lately. I've downloaded some beast free mixtapes and was meaning to share them with you but seem to have forgotten due to the daily chaos that is my life. Nonetheless, here they are. Click on the image to download them. If you care to, let me know what you think about 'em. They're all good hip hop, especially the "melanin impaired", Philly representer Asher Roth.

Laugh your a** off... it's okay.

I saw this on Sports Center tonight before I went to the Nationals game (hammered) and decided that it must be posted immediately. Shaq's a certified a**hole and I can't believe he went there. Wooooooo. That's a knee slapper.

can't wait

hood ninja.

When I was little, I wasn't allowed to listen to rap. Or watch MTV, for that matter. If I wanted to hear hip hop I had to either sneak and record it off the radio or steal one of my older cousin's tapes. I was like a feen. I got hip hop in my system any way I had to. It was kinda cool. Like I had a secret mission to accomplish and a deadline that I had to complete it by. Success was my reward in and of itself. I guess the high I still get from music is a habit I'm not at all tryna kick. My name is Chris. And I'm addicted to music.
I was really into hardcore rap back then for two main reasons. The first being that it was just that period in hip hop. The rough s**t is all there was. The second reason is because I went to private school all my life and no one else listened to anything like that. It was my way of making sure that I was different from everyone else; like I knew something they didn't. These three songs are some of the first that I can really remember listening to on repeat until I memorized them. Classics.

crucial backfire.

Disclaimer: When I first wake up it takes me a minute to get my thoughts together. A second ago I started typing and had to stop because I had no idea what I was talking about. Bear with me...

My car's been acting up lately. It sounded like a straight lawn mower when I drove down from Philly last weekend. That's not completely true but it was really loud nonetheless. Anyway, my mid muffler slam fell off at 7:20 AM today as I backed out of my driveway to go to work. Jack. I then proceeded to lay on my street while staring aimlessly under my car with a wire hanger in my hand, as if I could've come up with a clever, MacGyver style idea to fix this problem even if I hadn't just woken up. Remember, as previously stated, this is the worst time to ask me for anything. Long story short, I had to drive to the mechanic (which is about 15 minutes from my house) with my muffler dragging the entire way, making the most annoying and embarrassing noise in the world; then wait for good ol' Mom Dukes to pick me up from the mechanic to take me to work. Great start to a day, right?

It all worked out in the end though. An important detail that I left out is that yesterday I went to pick up a new muffler and all the parts that were needed for it to be put in properly, and had them in the back seat when I went to the mechanic. After dropping off my car I got a call a little over two hours later saying it was reading. Went. Picked it up. Everything's lovely.
That doesn't have to do with anything. Just wanted to tell you about it.

Moving on, I was exhausted when I got home from work so I took a nap. Naps and I have a history together. We get along pretty well together. Always have. In kindergarden, I was always the last person to wake up (I bulls**t you not). But today's nap was of a different breed. It wasn't the same nap I know. I woke up feeling like straight s**t. I can't even explain it. But anyway, that's how I got to where I am now, and the reason for this drawn out and completely irrelevant post.

I told you how I am when I first wake up...

Slackin'

Once again, I've been away from KTH for far too long. And once again, that's my bad. I'm back home in MD working my other job and it keeps me pretty busy/exhausted. A lot has happened in the past week and I hope you've all gotten wind of it via other sites. Hopefully this marks my return to consitency but I make no promises. I also hope you're all making this summer memorable because when it's over... the s**t's over.

I heard these three songs on a mixtape on my way home and they just felt like "summer" (even though the first came out in the winter). Don't know if that makes any sense but hopefully someone understands what I mean.

Movie Night

I find it interesting how when you spend a significant amount of time with someone on a regualr basis, their interests become your interests. Often the adoption of their passion(s) is unintentional but its funny when you realize that things that meant very little to you not so long ago, suddenly you're paying attention to. Just thought about that. Anyway...

Went to the movies for the first time in a while the other night (I'm pretty sure the last movie I saw in the theater was I Am Legend). We went to go see You Don't Mess With the Zohan. Pause. I knew this movie was going to be funny; Adam Sandler's in it so that's a given. But let me tell you that it was to my surprise that this movie ended up being F**KING HILARIOUS (excuse the profanity)! Like, tears funny. I'm talking about missing parts of the movie because you're still laughing at some s**t that happened earlier.

I highly suggest that everyone goes to see it. Primarily because I need someone to talk about it with. Movie ticket prices are retarded but I promise this will be worth your money.

There were two surprises that made the movie even better...

And f**kin' Dave Matthews!
He's hilarious! Who knew?!

"I push the seed every time like I'm Cody wit it..."

I'm waiting fo the day when I meet someone who says that they don't like this song. It's been a solid year now that I've been playing this song heavy and it still has the exact same effect that it did the first time I heard it.
I guess I'm posting the video now because it popped into my head and I do what I want. lol.
Enjoy.

"I'm out for presidents to represent me..."

So my birthday's in two weeks, huh?

Just a thought.
Thanks to sneakernews.com for the pics (obviously).

November though?

But I want them on my feet right now. This is the Nike Air Pippen 1 that is set to release in November. The black/purple/white colorway is what makes this shoe so vicious. I had the all white ones with the silver gel squiggles when I was little.
I think I'll write a post about that.

Nike Air Pippen 1 Black/White/Purple

I'll late for that...

Apparently Sunday was Mr. West's 31st birthday. Funny how he didn't mention it on his blog or anything.
Anyway, Happy Belated Sir.

Got it.
I told you I would.

HAHAHAHA!!!!

Ludacris is that dude. I'm not even playing.
This is a commercial for the new Planet Green Channel.
Tommy Lee's in it, too.

Time to Cop Up

If you don't have these two albums by now I seriously need you to stop being retarded and get them. I'd say drop whatever you're doing and go buy them right now, but seeing as how it's 96 degrees outside and rising, I'm not going to ask you to do that. They're CLASSICS though and your collection looks pretty stupid without them. Trust me.

When I heard that Seeing Sounds was on the internet I told myself not to go looking for it because I wanted to wait til tomorrow to buy it. Needless to say, I was on a friend's blog and there it was, staring me in my face, screaming to my soul "Download me... please." So I did. And I don't regret it at all. It's F'ing AMAZING! So when you're in Best Buy tomorrow to get your copy of this greatness, don't forget to grab the other two N*E*R*D bangers. I guess I'll just have to buy three copies of it tomorrow instead of two.

N*E*R*D - My Drive Thru ft. Santogold and Julian Casablancas

99-f'ing-degrees outside!

My roommate and I were watching a little bit of Pulp Fiction yesterday after we finally installed an A/C in our hot a** living room. He had never seen it before but I'm pretty sure I was put on to it a while back by an ex-girlfriend or something. Anyway, there's a scene in it where Uma Thurman's character, Mia, asks John Travolta's character, Vincent, a series of "either-or" questions while she films him. She begins by saying that there are really only two kinds of people in the world. In her example she uses Elvis and The Beatles. Calvin and I agreed with her theory but used our own examples. I think you'll agree with what we came up with...

There's two kinds of people in this world, Jay-Z people and Nas people. Now Nas people can like Jay-Z. And Jay-Z people can like Nas. But nobody likes them both equally. Somewhere you have to make a choice. And that choice tells me who you are.

And with that said, no matter how much I'd like to like them both equally...

I kind of made that choice a long time ago.

Jay-Z - A Billi (Zshare)

And I know I'm late with this next one but I've been to busy listening to it to write about it. I heard it for this first time two Saturdays ago... had it memorized by the next Monday. The kicker: I HATE LIL' WAYNE!

*I think Lil' Wayne should only do songs with Jay-Z. Period. Though, I haven't heard it yet, I think the success (or lack thereof) of The Carter III will prove my point.

Word?

Not too shabby.

No regrets...

It's great when you decide to go out on a limb and do something spontaneous, and the end result far exceeds your expectations. Because when contemplating whether your spur of the moment decision will be a success or not, you realize that one of two things is going to happen: it'll be an amazing experience and well worth it, or things can go terribly wrong (with gas prices, there's no grey area). And that's where risk comes into play.
With that said, I DID go back to DC (count 'em... that's the fourth weekend in a row) for the N*E*R*D album listening party at Commonwealth on Friday. Words can't even explain how right things went. Lets go over the highlights:

-Donovan got off of work an hour earlier so we could get there on time
-It was the perfect day for a two hour drive on I-95
-Listened to Dj Mike Rizzy's Tribe Called Quest mix in its entirety on the way down
-Went straight to Commonwealth and got the normal "home" feeling that I always get
-Saw people who's company I aways enjoy and made new, cool ass friends
-Chilled at somebody's house afterwards and had too much fun
-Hit up Steak 'n Egg for some eats around 2AM (always delicious)
-Got Donovan to the China bus right before it left at 8AM so he could get to Philly in time for work
-Went to my job orientation and acted out with my boy Devon
-Ummm... drove back to Philly and chilled with Don at his job at Pedestrian on South Street in the blazing sun

...S**t pretty much went downhill from there but extreme highs tend to have extreme lows so.... ya know.

This is tough...

I'm trying to decide if I should go home for this tonight...
Why not, right?
Yeah, it's not quite that easy.

...They so sensitive.

Here are the covers for the new Nas x Green Lantern mixtape title The Nigger Tape. It should be something serious so I'll post it as soon as I find it.
Check for it.

The colors, Duke! The Colors!

The Hundreds, XLARGE, and Casio collaborated for this new G-Shock DW6900. Its available today but only at The Hundreds Los Angeles, The Hundreds San Francisco, and the XLARGE store in Los Angeles. It's tough, though.

Youtubin it...

For some reason or another I found myself watching a lot of youtube videos today. Some were funnier/more fascinating than others so I decided to share my favorites with you.
Knock yourselves out, you crazy kids.
