Yo subscribers, what's goin on? My name's JERO and I'm proud to be one of the newest members of Chris's bootleg operation lovingly refered to as KTH. For my inaugural post, I've decided to write a response to Chris's last post Craziness. Well, I don't ride a BMX bike and I haven't had a bike stolen either, but over the past few years I've developed quite an obsession with fixed gear bikes. A fixed gear (or track bike) is a bike with only one gear, meaning, when you pedal forward, you move forward, and when you pedal backwards... guess which way you move? That's right, backwards. Also, they (typically) do not have breaks... Here's a pic of a track bike from SF, and for all you sneakerheads, notice the Fatlace sticker and the HUF SF quake print...
Anyway, to continue, there's this movie from '86 with my philly boy Kevin Bacon (ha) called Quicksilver about a rich guy who essentially loses everything and becomes a bike messenger (a life goal of mine). Here's a clip of these dudes in the movie jammin' out on fixies and some single speed bikes.
