Slacking.

Ok, so I know it, you know it, we ALL know it.... but the ugly truth is that I have been slacking hard on this whole blogging piece. So in a feeble, yet well meaning attempt at redemption, I have decided to force my recently "out of commission" mind back in the game. So as a way of once again putting my 2 cents out there, I've decided to make this post a simple ode to a simple man.

Chris "Cuzo" Francis... here's to you little homie.

This is probably one of my favorite Nas tracks. That's kinda hard to say but it bumps everytime I play it. Never fails. C'mon son. Think about it...
"What up, kid?
I know s**t is rough doin' ya bid.
When the cops came you shoulda slid to my crib"

THOSE ARE THE OPENING LINES!
HE WAS 20!

Nas - One Love

*I'm sorry for yelling at you like that. I'm just passionate about my music.

Still my favorite song ever

"It was born in a cloud, with silver lining...
but it broke."

"Maybe... the laugh's on me.
And life was telling me a joke..."

*'It's' kind of like being kicked in the balls. Really hard. Repeatedly. From behind, so you don't see it coming. "And now she's gone."

3 Stacks with 3-Stacks

I've decided that I'll stop celebrating the reaching of a new thousand-view mark when I stop being surprised. But until then, thanks readers. So here are some of my favorite Andre 3000 and Outkast videos.
Enjoy.

I couldn't publish this post without adding this. This dedicated to you.
Thanks again.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY WHIT!!!

Hey lady!
Do a dance!
It's your birthday!
Hooray!

Let it out, C...

Okay, so here's the deal. I honestly don't like making my posts personal but I do feel compelled to share certain things from time-to-time. I don't know why I do it and I'm not even sure if this post will make it through the day but whatever. I'll more than likely take it down after the first ignorant or judgemental comment. Not that I can't handle it, I just try to keep my blog negativity-free... that's what real life is for.

So like I said in "New Deep", I'm making some serious changes in the type of person that I am and where my morals lie. I make things difficult for myself which shouldn't be too big of an issue for others (its just stupid), except my mistakes often end up hurting other people. I sincerely apologize for that. There's no reason why my problems should be your's, too. Not to mention the fact that I was confusing the hell out of myself because I was trying to be Mr. Incredible to everyone but me.

Through all of my lies and deciet though, there is a great deal of truth that came through also. I say that to say this:

If you feel like I'll be unsuccessful in bettering myself and becoming a more respectful/respectable man... that's perfectly fine with me. I take full responsibilty for you feeling that way and you're more than like completely justified in your opinion. Because quite frankly, you have no f**kin' idea who I am behind all of my daily conflict and confusion. I figure its either because I didn't care to show you that person, you were too blind to see, or its really just to difficult to tell what's real (again, my fault).

This post is really in response to all the "F**k you" and "You ain't s**t" messages I've been getting lately. How do I put this... Ummm, duh.

Had you asked me I could have told you that. But don't fool yourself into thinking I'm incapable of cleaning the feces off the wall now that it's hit the fan. And please don't think I'm begging you for your help. I could probably do it by myself... but luckily I don't have to.

First and foremost, I have God. Think what you want about that one but my personal relationship with him is just that. Pesonal.

Secondly, I have my best friend. When everyone's realized that they're sick of me, he'll still be around. I don't know why but I do know that I'd be in bad shape without him. He knows who I am and is actually willing to see me through the process of reaching my full potential. Dig?

So this song is dedicated to Mr. Young. And as for the people that I've forced to have to say goodbye, I truly am sorry and I wish I had given you all of me.
You probably would've liked him.

"My best friend told me,
'You be actin' tough, that's fine.
But the weight of the world can really crush one's mind.
So let it out C, let it out C, let it out C, let it out C.

You won't even know you hurt sometimes,
until you in conversation it comes out in ya lines
so let it out C, let it out C,
let it out C, my nigga let it out.'"

Mambo Sauce...

... drink it in. It always goes down smooth.

11 Years of Greatness

I'm almost postive that the only person to listen to this whole thing will be Donovan but it would make me so proud if one of you faithful readers proved me wrong. Basically, this is a compilation of some of the Neptunes dopest beats in chronological order, starting way back in 1997.

Its funny because Don and I were just talking about this while listening to "Superthug" like last week. The Neptunes are largely responsible for my appreciation of music. Thanks guys.

After listening to it, I feel like it was missing A LOT. Its cool, though. Personally, if I had put this together, this would have been at the very beginning. Shout out to 1992...

New Deep

In a nutshell, I'm at a period in my life where I'm making a lot of changes. Necessary ones. Everything's not okay and realistically, my life just isn't that difficult for me to be having such a hard time getting it right. If that makes sense.

I'm not really in the mood to get into all the renovations that are being done at this exact moment, but there's no telling if the urge will subdue me at a later time. The point of this post is to share something with you that has meaning to me...

Most people have songs for different emotions, feelings, or just situations, that seem to fit perfectly. Sometimes they don't even directly apply to you, they just feel good. For about a month now, that song has been "New Deep" by John Mayer. I go to sleep to it almost every night and it makes for really good reflection music. Just thought I'd share.
"Numb is the new deep
Done with the old me
And talk is the same cheap it's been..."

On another note, I really listened to "Another Again" and "Please Baby Don't" by John Legend on the bus back to Philly from DC, and I had to take the most crucial deep breath afterwards. I've burned some serious bridges. S**t...

Listen to both of them. It's worth it. If not, at least listen to "Another Again".

Being broke sucks...

These 9's and a disastrous pair of 14's dropped this weekend as the next piece in the Jordan Countdown Package releases. These are pretty sick and bring back fond memories of when the cool grey ones came out a while back. I think I was in the 8th grade. Anyway, if you missed out... you're probably SOL by now.

I saw these hanging up on Carlilse St. last week and I forgot how decent of a picture it would be. So I took a couple and I'm almost positive they're OG's. And yes, the thought of somehow getting them down did cross my mind, but why do that?
Its almost artistic.

Skateboard P and Louis V

Pharrell hooked up with Louis Vuitton consultant Camille Miceli to design the new Blason jewelry collection. Most of the pieces have white and/or yellow diamonds in them and prices range from $2,070 to $621,000. Wawa wiwa... to say the least.
