a PSA from my favorite rapper.

http://www.philadelphiaweekly.com/beanieblog/archives/Jay%20Z_9646.jpg

Ladies and Gentlemen:

"London bridges are fallin' down,
not "bridges" but britches when Jigga's in town.
Ladies, show me your knickers.
I might let you kick it if you don't tell the misses.
Quit run 'fore the tabloids come.
Run from the night or we end up in The Sun.
I'm just takin a piss... unless you gon' do it.
Whoa nelly! Na I'm so Makaveli,
bring two pack (2Pac) of condoms when you come to the telly.
Tell me if this is true:
If diamonds are a girls best friend, my crew
would like to extend an invitation to you.
We'd like to invite to our family....
Jewelry, I mean.
Cuz my jewels currently is being guarded by the Queen."

And for your viewing pleasure...

PS - Apparently, in England, to say you're "just takin a piss" is the same as saying you're "just kidding." But you knew that already....

keep bouncing.

If you couldn't tell from previous posts, I'm slowly becoming a big Asher Roth fan. This kid is a beast and he's extra humble. Humility in rap is something that you rarely see and when you do, it generally fades away as fame increases. Best example of this: Lil' Wayne. I f**kin LOVED The Carter. Loved it. But then he started to lose me with all the cocky-ness. That's not my style so I wasn't rockin with it, and consequently, I know longer rock with Wayne.

Anyway, this song is from Asher's The Greenhouse Effect Mixtape which was crack. I played this song over and over again in the car this weekend. Its just one of those songs that's fun to bump when you got a packed car on the way to a party. Not to mention its about one of my favorite topics of discussion.

I'm almost positive you'll love it. Beat by Will.I.Am. S**t bumps.

Here's a hint...

got 'im.

You know, I'm sure that someday I'll stop stealing stuff from Zay's blog.
Today's not that day however.

Enjoy.

never fails.

Wanna hear something gross?.... I've been eating a BLT for lunch everyday for the past two months. On Temple's campus we have a variety of food trucks that are hot spots for upperclassmen and faculty/staff during lunchtime. They have them at Rutgers, too, only theirs stay open til around 3 AM and they're referred to as "grease trucks", which I think sounds kinda fly so that's what I call the ones we have at TU.
When I came back to Philly in July after being back home in Md./DC for 6 weeks, I went to a couple different grease trucks trying to find which one I liked the most. Well I found one and I've been stuck ever since. I get a BLT with extra bacon and no mayo on toasted white bread. EVERYDAY. I literally walk up to the truck, look at the lady, she recites my order, we smile at eachother, then I walk away and chill for about 5 minutes, and when I come back my food is waiting for me. Its a beautiful thing. An opportunity for me to practice something that is sadly a new concept for me: commitment. The ultimate "give and take." Both parties are happy because both parties get what they want. Its a sense of security in knowing that what you want is consistently going to be there for you. The truck doesn't move. Ever. The wooden planks that are wedged under the tires to keep it from moving, haven't moved either. And the four spots where the tires meet the pavement haven't been rained on in who knows how long. I don't take 30 minute lunch breaks.
I take 30 minute vacations.

s**ts and giggles.

My boss showed me this video when I came into work this morning and it was great. I'm big on comedy and my sense of humor is pretty broad, but I was never too much of a Saturday Night Live fan. Mad TV was more my style. I've seen some absolutely hilarious SNL skits but I can't say that I've ever sat down and wathed an entire episode.

Both Tina Fey and Amy Poehler and great actresses and it's great to see them together as Sarah Palin and Hillary Clinton. The entire sketch is funny and the impressions are on point. Its so trippy how much Tina Fey looks and sounds just like Sarah Palin. It's genius. My favorite parts are when Clinton is talking and Palin is completely ignoring her and making the poses from her well known photoshop scandal, and also when Clinton responds to Palin's statement that anyone can make it to the White House if you want it enough. Watch and see for yourself.

yeah, she's bad.

Future ex-wife #2: Lily Allen

i just gave my alarm clock the evil eye...

but then I remembered that it was an inanimate object and really didn't care what I thought about it. So...... yeah.

Anyway, this post is for Aden. I generally turn my brain off when I brush my teeth and don't think about anything but today all I could think about was this. No further explanation should be needed. You know what time it is.

good morning, bloggers.

Here's some goodness to get your day started right.
The quality is pretty bad but we're just gonna rock with it 'til we can find a better one.

that's crrraaazzzyyy.

So appaerently KickTheHabit turned one year old yesterday and I didn't even notice. That's wild s**t. I remember being at the Sneaker Expo that VJ threw on Temple's campus and pitching the idea for KTH to Don and him telling me to go for it. I took a minute to read the first couple of posts and damn! Talk about humble beginnings. I'm just thinking about how far we've come in the past year and I'm anxious to see where the next year's going to take us.
Understand me when I say that I truly appreciate you checking in with us, however frequently or rarely that may be. I realize that many of you don't leave comments and that's cool with me. As long I keep you interested enough to come back again, I'm happy. And speaking of coming back, don't think I didn't notice that we hit 24,000 views yesterday. How fitting. Let's keep this thing rolling.
One thing that I will ask of you, however, is if you're reading this right now and you have or are a part of a blog yourself, leave me a link to your site in the comments so I can return the favor and hopefully become a fan. Even if you're blog is already on my list of respected sites, leave me the link anyway. I appreciate it. And by "it"... I mean EVERYTHING!

nice.

In this months issue of XXL, Wale talks about his favorite episodes of Seinfeld...
That's a pretty big deal. Oh, and I was a party at the
Animal House maybe two weeks ago, and Tone of Best Kept Secret (produced all the majority of Wale's best tracks to date) was there, and he told VJ, Don, and I that Wale's album is gonna be on a completely different level.
I can't wait.

why not, right?

I've come to the realization that some people have way too much time on their hands. I'm definitely not one of those people. Its too bad they don't use that time to save the world or figure out how to convince people to be more energy efficient or some s**t like that, but who am I to judge. Plus, its not too bad for me because I don't have to worry about making dumb/funny stuff on the internet, I just get to enjoy it. Sweet deal. Anyway, i just out of class so I'm at work now and I'm already bored. So I went on to facebook and noticed that Don's status refers to a hilarious Chappelle's Show skit that we revisted while I was at his crib over the weekend. I then went onto youtube to see if it was there and instead of finding the actual skit, I found a Baltimore Club music video type thing version of it, if that makes any sense.

Enjoy.
*Not that you care or anything, but my current status on facebook was taken from a line in Drake's song Where To Now.

"Man, if '09 is when I'ma see mine, being cool aint enough. Homie, I'ma freeze time."
True s**t.

LMAO!!!!

Please tell me I'm not the only one who thinks this is hilarious.
I can't be.

get high.

Every once in a while, something will pop up on yahoo's homepage that catches my attention. So I'll look into it and usually its something pretty interesting and cool to know, but not mind blowing. I just watched this video and I was f**king amazed. What's even more unbelievable is that it got no love from ESPN whatsoever. Like, NONE.

The video is of Georgia's Knowshon Moreno straight leaping over some bamma during a game against Central Michigan. Seconds .42 to .48 is what you really need to see. Straight disrespect.

c'mon son... stop doin that.

[drake6.jpg]

Dear Drake,
You're a vicious rapper and I have a feeling its not going to be too much longer until everyone realizes that. Your wordplay is phenomenal and I honestly believe you're just an overall talente dude. I'm going to keep supporting you and I hope you blow up soon. However. I'd really appreciate if you stopped making songs with Lil' Wayne. Put bluntly: he's trash... well except for like 10 songs where he's actually spitting, but that's only 10 out of like 300. A candle in the sun, dig? I'm happy whenever I see a new track put out by you but this Weezy F(ucks) Baby s**t has got to stop. Please. Keep doing you thing, son.

creativity at its finest

I came across this video today and was pretty pleased with what I saw. This is a fan made video for Swagger Like Us and its put together really well. The movie and music video clips that were put in are good and relevant and the transitions are smooth for the most part. Overall, I thought it was decent.
I also saw the trailer for Lakeview Terrace for the first time today. Maybe its because I don't really watch tv too much anymore but I'm surprised I'm just now seeing this and it comes out in two weeks. None the less, it looks pretty ill so i'll be taking date applications til it drops. lmao.

i told you i got you.

My dude VJ has been hustlin lately tryna plan out this fashion show for Temple's Homecoming week. So if you live in Philly and you're at lest semi-attractive, you should come out to the model call tomorrow at 13th and Berks Mall.
